I knew I wanted marble style plates/bowls and this NEXT Marble 12-Piece Dining Set (£35), was everything I wanted and more. The quality is great and the print is subtle. The price is very reasonable as I have seen single plates for the same price as all 12 pieces.
I find IKEA perfect for simplistic glassware and these enormous Hederlig Red Wine Glasses (£1 each) were an absolute steal and just what I wanted. I’m not a wine drinker but these are lethal for a Gin & Tonic! My gorgeous hammered metal Viners Glamour 24 Piece Cutlery Set(£21.95) were such a great find – zero tarnish, nicely weighted and so nice to look at.My placemats were from TKMaxx and my Mum picked them up – they aren’t 100% what I was after but they’re nice and do the job.
If you’re looking for faux flowers – you must visit TKMaxx and/or Home Sense – they’ve got such a fabulous variety and the price is so affordable. I have faux peonies throughout the flat! They’re really well made and add a little je ne sais quoi….

What is your dining set up like?

When I moved into my flat back in March, I had various bits of furniture to get. I sorted out my coffee table and sofa pretty quickly but the dining table came quite a while after.
In the interim, I would eat my dinner and write blog posts sat cross legged on the sofa. Now, I’ll be honest, getting a dining table hasn’t stopped this despite my best intentions. I had all my dining essentials – minus a little hiccup with some Next plates – before moving in.
After much searching and trying to find exactly what I was looking for without breaking the bank, I finally settled on this stunning Oporto Circular Glass Dining Table (£123.75)and I couldn’t be happier. Not only was this table 25% off but it’s extremely high quality and feels much more expensive than it actually was. Thankfully, despite it’s weight, it was really easy to put together.
Chair wise, I picked up 4 stunning grey back button dining chairs from…you guessed it – TKMaxx. Now if you’re moving our or simply restyling, you need to be impulsive and dedicated to visiting the TK & Home Sense stores regularly because the turn over of stock is unreal. I knew when I saw these chairs that I had to get them there and then – after all, they were reduced from £70 each to just £37 and I’d have been a fool not to pick them up. I have one of the chairs in my bedroom for my vanity but I can pop it back round the table should I be entertaining more than 2 people.
