I am really impressed with the products I’ve tried from this huge range of makeup products. I’m intrigued to try some other products to see if they are just as nice to use.Have you tried anything from this line? Love, Kate xo
Models Own had long been a nails only playground until release of a 500 product strong makeup line last month. I’ve tried a couple of MO polishes but never been overly obsessed with the brand. I think it’s due to me hating painting my own nails and not being able to showcase beautiful shades the way they should be. That being said, y’all know I’m a sucker for new makeup especially when it’s a completely new launch. I was lucky enough to be sent a parcel full of goodies to try so I’m going to give you the run down. The theme behind the range is colour – lots and lots of colour. In a world obsessed with neutrals, this was a gamble for Models Own but one that was very welcomed. Let’s start with the Sculpt & Glow pieces I received. Firstly, I adore the ombré packaging – it’s pretty, eye catching and most importantly, memorable. What can I say? I’m a sucker for pretty packaging. The packaging on the inside is a little on the cheap side but it’s a drugstore range so I’m not too bothered. I received the Sculpt & Glow Matte Bronzing Powder in Deep Tan* (£8.99) which is probably a smudge dark for me but I was pleasantly surprised by how blendable and well pigmented this was without looking orange or streaky. There are 4 shades available, including a lighter matte shade and 2 more radiant bronzing powders. I like that the shade range has something for everyone. Next is the Rock’n’Rosy Blusher Stick in Peach Pop* (£6.99) which was a lot rosier than I imagined from the bullet which I preferred as its a bright but wearable shade to perk up the cheeks. I’m more of a powder blush wearer but this is perfect for holidays or even layering. There are 6 shades to choose from with a variety of differing colours. I love me a highlight but I’m not really a liquid highlighter fan. They just seem a little daunting to me. The Sculpt & Glow Liquid Highlighter in Rose Gold* (£9.99) is a subtle glow which you can’t really over do. It’s a tad too chunky glittery rather than a smooth shimmer for me but it does blend nicely and give the skin a radiant lift. There are 4 different shades to chose from with this product, from a super light pink toned shade for pale skin to more bronzed shades for deeper skin tones. Onto lips and a pretty awesome little kit in the form of the Lip Gunk Metallic Lip Kit in Fusion* (£10.99) which comes with a super handy mixing tray and lip brush for custom mixing shades and applying a super intense metallic lip with minimal effort. I reckon I’d have to be super daring to pull this off but it’s an incredibly beautiful blue/purple shade that is the right amount of metallic. There are 6 shades in this range and there’s a glossy version for the less daring. Finally onto eyeliners, one regular kohl and one waterproof version. My favourite is the i-Definer Waterproof Kohl Pencil in Electric Indigo* (£5.99) which I absolutely love on my bottom lash/waterline for a pop of colour. The product is creamy but long wearing and really lasts. There are 16 fantastic shades to chose from with this waterproof kohl. The other i-Definer Kajal Kohl Pencil in Jet Black* (£5.99) is great for smoky eyes as it smudges and blends to add a little something extra to your look.
